Haysi Facility Jail Overview

Southwest Virginia Regional Jail Authority - Haysi Facility is operated by the Southwest Virginia Regional Jail Authority, often shortened to SWVRJA. The Dickenson County Sheriff's Office does not publish a separate Dickenson-only jail roster for a stand-alone county jail. Current local custody is routed through the regional authority system, and the Haysi location is the strongest local match because official Dickenson sheriff weekly commit reports list "SWVRJA Haysi" as the location for sample jail commits.

The facility holds local and regional inmates, including pretrial detainees, people serving short jail sentences, defendants held on probation violations, and other commitments handled by member localities. It can house male and female inmates at classification levels set by the jail. Haysi Facility Visitation

SWVRJA publishes video visitation rules through Smart Communications. Remote video sessions are 15 minutes, are limited based on inmate location, and require a prepaid Smart Communications account. Visitors are told to read the rules before scheduling. Staff may refuse, change, or cancel a session for safety, security, identification, disruption, or schedule reasons.

Haysi Facility Mail Money

Regular inmate mail for Haysi uses Smart Communications MailGuard, not the physical jail address. Mail must include the facility name, inmate name, and inmate ID number. Regular mail is scanned into the kiosk or tablet system, and original paper is destroyed. Do not send original birth certificates, marriage certificates, social security cards, or photos that must be returned through regular scanned mail.

Haysi Facility Records Notices
